We were thrilled to debut our McClurg Building Corner at Marcellus Olde Home Days! This was a collaborative effort between McClurg and the Marcellus High School students in Joe Killian’s shop class.
Driven by the collaborative desire to introduce kids to the art of the trades, this McClurg Corner was created to provide the hands-on experience of building with your hands, while celebrating the ongoing initiatives of Mr. Killian and his team at Marcellus High School.
During Marcellus Olde Home Days, families and visitors were invited to participate in the building process, witnessing firsthand the fruits of the students' labor. It was a vibrant display of community spirit and collaboration, where individuals of all ages came together to create something meaningful.
If you had the opportunity to watch the building in progress, you would have witnessed the creation of a house, a fort, a table and chairs, even a pirate ship equipped with a plank for any rival pirates who dared to sail to Olde Home Days! It was a weekend of imagination and engineering.
We were thrilled to see the community grab hold of this idea and run with it. Our mission was to put building opportunities in the hands of kids, and that mission was met with enthusiasm.
